Elections will be held in 12 states and 26 Virginia on June 18. The Election Commission (EC) closed it on Friday. NDA may lose one seat in this election, while Congress led candidates are expected to gain three seats.
Of the total 26 seats where elections are being held, NDA currently has 18 (1 from Andhra Pradesh, 4 from Gujarat, 3 from Karnataka, 2 each from Rajasthan-Madhya Pradesh, one seat each from Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu). Whereas Congress alliance has 5 seats. Three other inaugural members of YSRCP are also included.
NDA is likely to get 17 seats in the elections, while Congress is expected to get five, JMM two and TVK one seat. Zoram Peoples Live can win one seat in Mizoram. YSRCP can regain its three-pronged lead.
In the 244-member Upper House, the NDA currently has a minimum of 149, while the nomination has a minimum of 78 and the non-aligned regional alliance has a minimum of 17.
