Sagar Adani, Executive Producer, Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL), New Delhi, stressed the need to rapidly increase electrification (electric energy) to strengthen energy security and drive economic growth. He said that creative energy combined with energy storage will be the most important key to providing powerful, small and 24-hour clean electricity in the future.
The first Adani Green Energy Level was held in partnership with Adani Green Energy Limited (AGL) and the Energy Transition Commission (ETC) at Science Sky in London during London Climate Action Week.
Sagar Adani said, “Electrification is emerging as the most effective means to solve these problems. For countries with strong economic growth and energy self-reliance, rapid electrification has no longer become an option but a necessity.
He said that the real potential of bio energy is revealed when it is combined with Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and Stamped Storage Project (PSP).
Work to achieve 50GW energy capacity
Sagar Adani said, “This technology makes clean energy valuable, important and available 24 hours. Adani is taking this green thinking forward and is working towards achieving 50 GW energy capacity by the year 2030.” The world’s largest solar energy plant is being developed in Khavde, Gujarat, combining clean energy with large-scale energy storage.
Policy makers, businessmen, industry representatives and climate experts participated in this dialogue program. Everyone discussed the entrepreneurs, investments and investors needed to accelerate the clean energy transition.
Held during London Climate Action Week, the world’s largest independent climate change event, the event covered the importance of international cooperation in addressing climate change, fostering new enterprises and the energy transition.
news and more
Lord Adair Turner, co-chairman of the Energy Transition Commission, said the most important step is electrification if the world is to achieve zero-emissions industries and take global control. He said that electricity based economy should be made possible and electricity generation should be decarbonized to maximum level.
He said, “The good thing is that in many sectors like road transport, CAG and low temperature industrial units, electrification is already proving to be economically beneficial. On the other hand, electrification of high level companies is now becoming possible even in the heavy companies of new ventures.”
Nigel Topping, co-founder of Emblazon Flipkart and chair of the UK Climate Company Committee, said investment in decarbonizing power generation is increasing, but the real economic and marginal benefits will come only when electrification occurs even in those sectors of the economy that have so far been privatized.
“Stable cost of technology and a clear understanding of how floatability works in modern electrical goods is vital to attract large-scale investment,” he said.
Investment of more than 100 billion dollars
Adani Group has committed to invest more than $100 billion in energy transition dollars and the associated restaurant plant, one of the world’s largest private investments in the sector.
The Group is also continuously investing in energy reserves, simple green, digital architecture and new industries to accelerate the transition towards a low-carbon economy.
At Adani Group’s annual general meeting (AGM) held earlier this week, Gautam Adani also planned to develop a diversified energy portfolio based on composite energy, green, energy storage, assortment, digital energy and nuclear energy to complete the Indian multinational energy conglomerate.
Gautam Adani also announced that the group plans to develop up to 10 GW of nuclear power capacity under its diversified energy portfolio. He said that nuclear energy, combined with nuclear energy and energy reserves, will play an important role in providing large-scale, massive and low-carbon electricity.
