Rajpal Yadav had attracted attention by surrendering in Tihar Jail in the long-running check bounce case. Released on bail, he recently joined Farah Khan’s YouTube vlog to share his jail experiences and express his gratitude towards his supporters. During the vlog, Farah along with her long-time cook Dilip visited Rajpal’s manager and confidant Saket Sahni’s house. Before the meeting, the director-choreographer said, “He is the most talented, extremely funny and one of the most experienced actors in the industry.”

With a hearty embrace, Farah told Rajpal to “look at the biggest star” and prompted Dilip to touch her feet. Overjoyed she asked, “Rajpal, how are you? I am meeting you after years.” As they talked, Rajpal revealed that he would arrange a special treat for her, but she gently alluded to his prison time, saying, “I already feel happy to see you walking around freely.” Curious, Farrah added: “Is everything okay now? Now that you’re out of that jail. How were you treated there? Like any normal person or were you getting any special treatment because of your stardom? Were your fans there?”

Rajpal replied, “I won’t say whether there were fans or not, but the discipline and legalities created for that venue were completely followed.” Impressed by her approach, Khan said, “You are taking it in such a philosophical way. You are not showing any bitterness. You are just like I had to go, I went, I did what I had to do and I came out of that place. Like it’s all karma, and you can’t escape it. Were you feeling disappointed or angry by all this?” Rajpal, who comes from a humble background, said, “No, I have learned to live in all kinds of situations.” Farah Khan agreed and said, “Yes, he is there. He is always laughing and smiling. And always gives every actor a run for their money.”

Yadav then revealed what fueled her resilience during the tough times: “Just think Farah, if there are 800 crore people in the world, Indian cinema rules at least 600 crore hearts. And because of this medium, even people who don’t recognize me by name, know me by my face and know that I am a Bollywood actor. Cinema has given me a lot. So, if I am in any kind of trouble today, I will remain within the cinema community and cooperate in all kinds of processes until the truth comes out.“

Farah further asked, “Tell me one thing Rajpal, when you were inside the jail, were you given any kind of kitchen duty or other work?” Rajpal replied, “Nothing. Luckily, things didn’t stop there. But, they kept me with proper discipline, following the rules and even in jail.” He added, “So when you came out, did you see how many people were standing in your support?” “The whole world stood with me,” he confirmed.Farah gave a nod to actor Sonu Sood as one of her early supporters.Rajpal said, “Sonu Sood, Tej Pratap Yadav, Inderjit Rao, Amit SharmaAnd there are fifty other people who have helped equally but never came forward or publicized it on social media. He helped physically, emotionally, financially, but never came forward openly. So, I also thank those who came on social media for themselves. But I thank all those who helped me without coming on social media.
Rajpal Yadav got Sonu Sood’s support!
When Rajpal entered Tihar Jail, Sonu Sood started a campaign on Sometimes life is unfair, not because of talent, but because time can be cruel. He will be a part of my film, and I believe this is a moment for all of us..producers, directors, colleagues to stand together. A small signature amount adjustable for future work is not charity, it is dignity. When one of our own is going through a difficult time, the industry should remind them that they are not alone. “This way we show that we are more than just an industry.”

However, Rajpal set the record straight with Screen: “Please clear up the misconception that I need to keep asking for work. And there is no shame in asking for work. I live through my job, cinema is my passion, and I work in such a way that I get four times more work. I even work on holidays. Work doesn’t find me, it has been with me for the last 11 years.” This surprised many, including Sonu Sood, but he thoughtfully replied to HT City, “Happy for him. I didn’t say he needed work. I said ‘Sign it and pay in advance because he deserves it.’
