Pakistan’s opening batsman Sam Ayub has achieved the top position in the ICC T20I rankings with his brilliant performance. Sam Ayub became number-1 after Australia’s 3-0 win in the three-match T20 series on home soil, overtaking Zimbabwe’s experienced player Alexander Raja.

23 year old Sam Ayub scored 119 runs in the series against Australia and also took three wickets. This ranking, just before the ICC T20 World Cup title, is a big relief for Pakistan, because the team is searching for the second T20 World Cup title after 2009.

The news market has not ended for Pakistan. Spinner Abrar Ahmed has gained two places in the T20I batting rankings and has secured the second position. So far, India’s Varun Mitra, who has taken six wickets in three matches against Australia, is behind by just 28 ratings points.
