Planning a bank trip? You may want to reschedule! Bank customers planning to travel in March 2026 are being advised to check their branch holiday schedules as the four-day bank holiday approaches. Since banks observe both national and state-specific holidays, closure dates may vary from region to region, making it important to plan in advance to avoid unnecessary travel. Many branches will remain closed for festivals and state-specific celebrations. Additionally, banks will not open on the second and fourth Saturdays of March, following the guidelines set by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Customers who are planning to visit the branch for large cash deposits, check clearance, or other services should plan in advance.
When and where will banks remain closed?
Even though physical branches will remain closed, customers can continue regular transactions through digital banking channels including online banking, ATMs, mobile apps and UPI services. Fund transfers, bill payments and other standard operations will remain available. Services that require branch visits, such as check clearance, large cash deposits, or issue of demand draft, will not be available on these dates. Customers are advised to plan accordingly and use digital banking wherever possible to avoid inconvenience.
