Heesung has decided to exit K-pop group ENHYPEN after 6 years with the members and will pursue a new path as a solo artist. Following the formation of I-LAND’s first season, the septet debuted on November 30, 2020 with their first mini-album, Border: Day One, and the lead single Given-Taken. The member lineup consisted of Heseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunu, Jungwon, and Ni-ki, with the 24-year-old being the oldest player, led by Jungwon, 2 years younger.
Enhypen’s Heseung leaves the group for solo debut
On March 10, 2026, the group’s future activities plans as a six-member team were shared on their official social media handles. The agency said, “BELIFT LAB has put a lot of thought and consideration into ENHYPEN’s future direction and goals. Through in-depth discussions with each member about their future and the direction of the team, it became clear that HESEUNG has its own unique musical vision and we have decided to respect that.
Thus, HEESEUNG will separate from ENHYPEN, and ENHYPEN will continue official activities as a six-member group.
Although he declined to go into details leading up to the decision, he stressed that the decision was taken after ‘extensive deliberations’. Addressing the fans, the fans said, “We understand there is a lot of work to be done on this news and it may get mixed reactions.” He confirmed that Haeseung will be working as an artist on a solo album and under the same company.
Enhypen released their 7th mini-album, The Sin: Vanish, on January 16, 2026, which became their last release as a seven-person team. The announcement comes just ahead of potential contract renewal talks between the group and their management label, BELIFT LAB. The record sold 1.65 million copies in its first day and peaked at number 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. With the massively successful drop coming, this announcement is another blow to their fans.
