ICAI announces exam schedule for CA Foundation, Intermediate and Final

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has officially announced the examination schedule for Chartered Accountancy (CA) Foundation, Intermediate and Final examinations for May 2026. The announcement was issued by the examination department on December 12, 2025, which also includes the exam timings, centers in India and abroad, online application process and applicable exam fees.

The May 2026 examinations will be conducted as per the following schedule:

ca final

  • Group I: 2, 4, and 6 May 2026
  • Group II: 8th, 10th and 12th May 2026

CA Intermediate

  • Group I: 3, 5, and 7 May 2026
  • Group II: 9th, 11th and 13th May 2026

CA Foundation

  • 14, 16, 18 and 20 May 2026

Additionally, the International Taxation – Valuation Test (INTT-AT), a post-qualification course examination open to ICAI members, will be conducted on 10 and 12 May 2026.

ICAI has clarified that there will be no change in the examination schedule even if any examination day is declared a public holiday.

Exam time and duration

All exams will normally start at 2:00 PM (IST). Duration varies according to paper:

  • Most Foundation, Intermediate and Final papers are of 3 hours each
  • Foundation Papers 3 and 4 are of 2 hours each
  • Final paper is 6 and all INTT-AT papers are of 4 hours
  • Advance reading time of 15 minutes (from 1:45 pm to 2:00 pm) will be provided for most of the papers, except Foundation Paper 3 and 4, MCQ-based paper and INTT-AT paper, where advance reading time is not allowed.

For CA Foundation, Intermediate and Final examinations, ICAI has notified nine foreign centers including Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Doha, Muscat, Riyadh, Kuwait, Bahrain, Kathmandu and Thimphu.

ICAI reserves the right to withdraw or modify any examination center at any stage without assigning any reason.

All candidates are required to submit their examination application form online only:

Foundation, Intermediate and Final candidates have to apply through Self Service Portal (SSP) eservices.icai.org.

INTT-AT candidates must apply through pqc.icaiexam.icai.org,

The online application window will open on 3 March 2026. The last date to apply without late fee is March 16, 2026, while applications with late fee will be accepted till March 19, 2026. The correction window for change in examination city or medium will be available from 20 to 22 March 2026.

Exam Fee and Medium

The examination fee varies depending on the course, group selection and examination center (India or overseas). Candidates can pay the fees online using Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking or UPI.

1. CA Foundation

  • India: ₹1,500
  • Overseas Centre: US$325
  • Bhutan and Nepal Centre: ₹2,200

2. CA Intermediate

for Indian centers

  • Single group: ₹1,500
  • Both groups: ₹2,700

Candidates appearing for the CA Foundation, Intermediate and Final examinations can choose to answer the paper in English or Hindi. However, the medium of INTT-AT examination will be English only.
