Apple has released the second Release Candidate (RC) of iOS 26.2 to developers and public beta testers, signaling the imminent launch of the software update. For those unaware, RC represents the final version of the update before it is released to the general public. The new build is serial number 23C54 and replaces the previous RC 23C52. According to MacRumours report, iOS 26.2 will come with a Liquid Glass slider on the lock screen to adjust the transparency of the clock.The software update will also bring Live Translation to AirPods in the EU. The most notable change comes to the Measure app, which now features a redesigned Levels tool with a Liquid Glass aesthetic, replacing the previous white circle indicators with more fluid, translucent bubbles. This continues Apple’s gradual rollout of its Liquid Glass design language that was first showcased at WWDC.

Menu animations throughout the system have also received attention, with pop-out menus now displaying faster, bouncier transitions that more closely match Apple’s original WWDC demonstrations.

In addition to visual updates, the Games app has received practical improvements, including changing the current name and recent options, as well as sorting the library by size. Real-time score updates during gameplay and advanced controller navigation enhance the gaming experience.
CarPlay
CarPlay users will get a new option to disable pinned conversations in the Messages app, offering more customization for communication preferences in the vehicle.
Advanced Security Alerts
Apple also expanded information about Advanced Safety Alerts, clarifying how the feature provides emergency notifications for events like earthquakes and floods using available connectivity. The system determines user regions through device location without permanently storing this information.
