Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge continues its strong run at the box office, but the film is stuck in legal trouble. Bollywood production house Trimurti Films has filed a lawsuit against Aditya Dhar’s banner B62 Studios over alleged unauthorized use of the song Rang De Laal (Oye Oye).

According to a report in Bar & Bench, the dispute revolves around the rights of the popular track from the 1989 film Tridev. The song was composed by Kalyanji-Anandji along with Viju Shah, with lyrics by Anand Bakshi and vocals by Amit Kumar and Sapna Mukherjee.Trimurti Films has alleged that the song, or its similar version, has been used in the film without obtaining the necessary licenses.

The report also indicates that Trimurti claimed ownership and/or control over the rights to the musical work and sound recordings. The company alleged that its use constituted copyright infringement, including unauthorized reproduction and public communication of the track.The lawsuit seeks damages and other relief as well as a ban on further use of the song. It has also raised concerns about commercial exploitation of the track in theatrical releases, streaming platforms and promotional materials.
The film continues to perform well at the box office
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge is produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios. The espionage action thriller stars Ranveer Singh in the lead role and serves as the sequel to Dhurandhar (2025).The film explores the origin story of his character, Jaskirat Singh Rangi, depicting his transformation into Hamza Ali Mazari and his rise within the underworld of Lyari while undertaking a larger mission.The cast includes Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi and Sara Arjun, while Danish Pandor and Udaybir Sandhu play the lead roles. Yami Gautam also has a cameo in the film. Despite the controversy, the film is performing exceptionally well and has reportedly crossed the Rs 1000 crore mark at the Indian box office.
