After launching the Redmi Note 15 in India earlier this month, Xiaomi is now ready to launch the Pro model. Redmi Note 15 Pro series is launching in India on January 29, the brand has officially announced. The lineup may include two phones: Redmi Note 15 Pro and Redmi Note 15 Pro+. Both the phones have already been launched in China and have also made their global debut. However, the Indian variants may come with some changes.
As per the official teaser, the Redmi Note 15 Pro series will feature a 200MP MasterPixel OIS camera with HDR+ AI engine, multifocal portraits, and 4K video recording support. The series is confirmed to feature IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings along with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. It also has ‘Redmi Titan Structure’, which provides 10x resistance. This shows that the phone will be extremely durable.
The Redmi Note 15 Pro series will pack a 6,500mAh battery with support for 100W HyperCharge and 22.5W reverse charging. This will be a minor upgrade to the 6,200mAh battery of the Redmi Note 14 Pro+. But this should result in 1+ days of comfortable use. Redmi says the battery is designed to last up to five years. The Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 has been confirmed so far, and this chipset could power the Pro+ models. While this is a good mid-range chipset, it may fall short when compared to phones that use faster chipsets like the Snapdragon 8S Gen 4. You also get IceLoop cooling, which ensures good heat dissipation while gaming.
On the front, there is a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with 3,200 nits peak brightness, which may be the same on both models. The Redmi Note 15 Pro series is said to launch with up to 24GB of RAM, including 12GB of virtual RAM. It has AI Writing, AI Speech Recognition and AI Interpreter, which will be part of the software experience of the Redmi Note 15 Pro series. AI already plays a major role in smartphones these days, and Redmi also seems to be on track.
The full spec sheet of the Redmi Note 15 Pro series was recently leaked, confirming most of the details mentioned above. You can also expect the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultra on the Redmi Note 15 Pro, as well as a slightly larger 6,580mAh battery, but slower 45W charging. The Pro model is also likely to get the same 200MP camera along with an 8MP ultra-wide camera.
Based on what is known so far, the Redmi Note 15 Pro series appears to bring meaningful upgrades compared to the previous lineup. If Redmi maintains the same pricing, the Note 15 Pro series is likely to fall in the sub-Rs 30,000 segment. At this price, the Redmi Note 15 Pro and Pro+ may be worth the wait, especially for buyers looking for a more premium and durable design, capable cameras, a larger battery, and reliable performance. Overall, the series has the potential to offer a good mid-range package.
