After teasing I/O 2024 and announcing this April, Google is today launch Workspace Studio is meant to be a new automation tool that lets you “design, manage, and share AI agents” powered by Gemini 3’s multimodal understanding.
Previously known as Workspace Flow, Workspace Studio basically follows the “if this, then that” model of automation with full integration into Gmail, Chat, Drive, and other Google productivity apps. (You can also connect with Asana, Jira, Mailchimp, and Salesforce.)
With Workspace Studio, you can create agents in minutes to automate everyday work, from simple tasks to complex workflows – no coding or special syntax required.
This includes a shortcut (double arrow icon) in the top-right corner of each web app next to Gemini. There are tabs for Discover, My Agents and Activity, while there are also: studio.workspace.google.com,
You create agents supported by Gemini’s logic, context understanding, and generative capabilities, with Google focused on moving away from “simple, rules-based automation” that has strict rules and rigid terms.
Agents can reason about problems and adopt new information
It allows for sentiment analysis, content creation, intelligent prioritization, smart notifications and much more. Indications can be given in simple language.

The studio creates this agent on the fly, using Gemini 3 to decide which questions to ask in incoming emails. It can go even further – extracting important details like action items, invoice numbers from emails and their attachments. And since collaboration is at the heart of Workspace, you can share your agents with your team as easily as you share files in Google Drive.

Google wants to put custom agent creation into the hands of every employee by “removing the hassle of coding and making it easy for anyone to design agents that automate their unique business processes in minutes.”
In Cloud Next 2025, the tool entered alpha testing for enterprise customers. Google today announced general availability for Workspace Studio. In the coming weeks, it will be available for:
